Bring a Trailer (BaT) is a popular website where specialty cars are listed for sale and sold. You will usually find a host of classic cars on their website. Want to look for the classic car of your dreams? Eventually a listing would appear, and then you would be able to bid and potentially win the car. At Auto Dynamik, we have been requested to prepare the cars before they were sold.
A long time San Francisco resident had asked us to prepare the iconic 1973 Datsun 240Z. The Datsun, or Nissan, 240Z is a very popular classic Japanese sports car from the 70’s and the legacy continues to thrive, even today. Driven from the street to the track, the car was, and still is, a capable car for people who look forwards to enjoying driving. It has appreciated in value due to its rarity as a collector car, especially those that are in great condition. The car was in storage for quite some time and eventually the customer was ready to bring the car back on the road. He came to Auto Dynamik as a long time customer with the history of his other cars (Classic BMWs, mostly) being repaired by us. This time, he wanted us to prepare and check the car to make it safe and roadworthy, along with other work. We worked on the carburetors, exhaust system, brakes, cooling system and performed a tune up. After careful attention and the work done, the car was ready to be put up for sale on BaT, where it was sold successfully.
Another long time customer from San Francisco also has a similar car, a 1972 Datsun 240Z, to replace his other classic 2002 BMW model. This Datsun 240Z has been repaired and maintained by Auto Dynamik for quite some time, until he decided to depart and found another classic, a Mercedes Benz 450SL, also maintained by Auto Dynamik. The 240Z was featured in BaT and was sold with a high value.
Another car which was also offered in BaT was a 1988 BMW 535iS. This is a car that has been gaining popularity in the collectors market. When we received this car, it was not running due to a broken engine. We replaced the engine, along with converting the car from an automatic transmission into a 5 speed manual transmission. Prepared and repaired, the car as it should be will eventually become a unique collector’s car.
We are proud to be able to help our customers with their requested tasks. Their passion is our passion, and no shortcuts were taken. We treat their cars as our own. We are here, not only working on modern automobiles, but also working on vintage and classic cars to continue the legacy of what these cars have left for us today.
